If you've been eagerly awaiting for the next season of Better Call Saul to come out, I have some news for you.
According to Bob Odenkirk, season five is "going to blow your mind" more than any of the previous seasons. Seeing as he plays the main character Jimmy McGill (aka Saul Goodman) in the Breaking Bad spin-off, he's probably the right person to listen to.
While not giving away any details on what to expect from the hotly anticipated next season, Odenkirk still hyped-up the show in a big way.
The actor, who originally played Walter White's attorney in Breaking Bad, said:
"It’s the best season we’ve ever done, it’s going to blow your mind, and I’m not kidding about either of those things. It’s f*cking awesome. I can’t wait for people to see it. It’s just shattering in every direction, and I love it."
Obviously as the leading actor he's just doing his part in promoting the series, but he wouldn't be selling it this much if he didn’t believe what he was saying. Telling us that the season 5 of Better Call Saul will be "shattering in every direction", and the "best season we’ve ever done" are massive statements to make and which will come back to bite him on the ass if it doesn't live up to expectations.
So I’m going to trust him on this one, especially as we are reaching the end of series as a whole. Giancarlo Esposito – who plays Gus Fring in the show – said the show will end after a sixth season.
Better Call Saul is set several years before Breaking Bad and follows Jimmy McGill’s character as he goes from trying to live up to his brother's idealistic idea of the law to becoming the shady criminal lawyer known as Saul Goodman.
At the end of season four, Jimmy tells his partner Kim he would will be practicing law under a different name and so begins his transformation into Saul.
Season five is expected to air early next year.
