Giving a new defination to gum cole.

We’ve all had gum stuck to our shoe soles at some point in life but having a shoe sole made out of gum itself?

Yes, you heard it right...!!

Sneakers and gum have always had a strange relationship. But that could change soon.

Marketing organization Iamsterdam, designer Explicit Wear and a sustainability company Gumdrop have teamed up to create the Gumshoe. The sneaker’s sole is made up of a compound “Gum-Tec,” which is made of 20% gum.

In order to collect the gum, Gumdrop travels around the streets of Amsterdam and scrapes up discarded gum.

Every 2.2 pounds of gum can be used into the soles of 4 pairs of sneakers, according to Gumdrop, around 3.3-million pounds of gum make it on the streets of Amsterdam each year. So they started looking for a way to make people aware of this problem… That’s when the idea began to create a product people actually want from something no one cares about.

Available in 3 colors options red, black and bubblegum pink, these shoes are just what you need to become an eco-friendly athlete in the making!

In addition to their exclusive soles, the sneakers also boast of a stylish leather body, for the perfect look and the Gumshoe sole not only looks like your favorite chewing gum, it even smells like it.

So, if you’re interested in reclaiming the gum you spit on the sidewalk, the Gumshoe sneakers might be a good idea. They’ll be available from June for £166 ($232 USD / 190 euros).
