Indian Punjabi singer Daler Mehndi has been sentenced to 2 years in prison for cheating migrants abroad.
Mehndi and his brother have been accused of illegally sending people abroad by pretending they were members of his troupe and charged them huge amounts of "passage money".
After the case was filed, others also came forward with similar complaints against him.
He was sentenced to jail on Friday but was released on bail soon after the sentencing, which means he'll probably skip the country pretending to be a member of his own troupe!
In case you don't know, Mehndi was one of the most popular Indian bollywood singers in the 90s and 2000s, and made Bhangra popular worldwide. His first album Bolo Ta Ra Ra has sold over 20 million copies.
