Two Australian paramedics have received an overwhelming response for granting a dying patient her final wish.
Before going into palliative care at hospital, the woman requested Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics if she could visit the beach one last time. They duly fulfilled her wish and took her to the waters at Hervey Bay.
Queensland Ambulance Service wrote that:
"The patient expressed that she just wished she could be at the beach again. Above and beyond, the crew took a small diversion to the awesome beach at Hervey Bay to give the patient this opportunity - tears were shed and the patient felt very happy.
Sometimes it is not the drugs/training/skills - sometimes all you need is empathy to make a difference!"
The paramedic heroes took her to an area where she could see Fraser Island, Point Burrum, and the pier — one the nicest spots anyone can be.
It's a beautiful thing to be reminded of the amazing job emergency service workers do every day.
