Classic 1960s Mini brought back to life with electric car

Can’t wait for Mini’s first all-electric model to be released next year?

The wait won’t be over for a while yet, but in the meantime the company has converted a classic Mini to run on electricity.

The British firm has given the iconic 60s car a modern makeover but has only made one with no plans to sell a 'new' original.

It's one of the world’s most recognisable cars having sold more than five million units between 1959 and 2000 and enjoys evergreen popularity.

Now Mr Bean's favourite car has had 30 lithium-ion batteries fiited to give it a range of 65 miles and a top speed of 75mph.

Mini is currently working on an electric version of its current model which will be available for sale in 2019.
