Thalipittu is very easy to make and can be prepared in many ways and that too at the click of your finger.
I got this recipe from my mom..
In Kannada it is thalipittu where as in Marathi it is called thalipeeth
its perfect for morning breakfast...it can be done in 5-10 mins....
Today I made this simple onion thalipittu for lunch..
Thalipeeth means "hand patted" as far as I know since it is hand patted directly on to pan... They are very tasty n #healthy too..
- 2 cups Rice flour
- 1 tsp seasmeseeds
- 2 - finally chopped onions
- 5-6 - green chillis
- Few chopped coriander leaves
- 1 tsp Jeera
- salt to taste
- Mix all the ingredients for the dough, add warm water little by little to make a soft tight dough, as shown in picture.
- Make equal sized balls and keep aside
- Grease a pan with oil. Take a dough ball and spread it to the size of the pan using fingers, it shouldn't be too think or too thin.
- Make four holes in the roti with finger and pour oil in the holes. Drizzle some along the edges, too
- Cover and cook on medium heat.
- When it turns slightly golden in colour, remove.
- Serve hot with ghee and yoghurt.
